| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - For the intermediate amateur This is a great camera and a great package. It has all the professional tools, and they are very accessible. This is the camera for the person that wants a great SLR, but don't want to pay a huge amount of money.
This camera is perfect for me. I used to have semi-professaional non SLR Olympus, but it broke down after heavy travel. I took a lot of pictures, but although I could adjust the aperture, iso, shutter time etc, it was a bit too cumbersome for me. The result was I almost always went with the predefined programs. With the D60, this is a lot easier, and now I always adjust these values as needed. It is also a much better camera. If you are a professional or an advanced amateur photographer, you can still take very good pictures with this camera, but you probably want to go with one of the higher end, where controls are even more accessible.
About the package. Its great that it comes with 2 lenses. When taking pictures indoors, the 18-55 is adequate most of the time, while outdoor you often like to zoom in a bit, the 55-200 is good. Personally I switch back and forth a lot, so a 18-200mm would great, but its another $500, so this is still by far the best deal for me.
One of the best features, is that you can take really good pictures indoors, during the evening, without flash. This is really great, + See Full Customer Review | |
